What countries are covered? Are multiple carriers offered in
Tech-Go offers voice service using our Basic International Voice service.
We also offer voice and data (in certain countries) using an alternative
USA-Based service. In most countries where multiple carriers offer
service, you can select the carrier you use from the phone. This
allows you to switch carriers if you are having any network problems.
Many of our competitors only offer access to a single carrier in each

How does the network know where I am located and deliver calls?
When you power on your phone, it registers with the local network
provider with the strongest signal. The information on the SIM card
is transmitted identifying you as a roaming subscriber. The network
then sends notification to forward incoming calls to your
What kind of call quality should I expect?
In most countries, wireless GSM service and coverage is very good.
Because the network is 100% digital, sound quality is superior to the
older analog (AMPS) systems. In remote areas such as wilderness and
mountains may not have coverage due to low population density (satellite
service recommended for remote and ocean areas).
How much usage do I get with the Basic Voice Service?
The phone is shipped with to protect you against loss and theft.
This works out to around $50 in daily usage allowed with an automatic
daily recharge. If your phone is lost/stolen please notify Tech-Go
right away and we can block usage to limit your expense!
How can I check my balance?
You are provided instructions with your rental which allow you to check
your available balance at any time. Most customers do not use phone
enough each day to bother checking balance each day. Also, each time you make a
call, you are provided the remaining number of minutes available for that
I am charged a deposit. What is this for and when will I
receive a credit?
This deposit is primarily for the equipment and to net against your
invoice when it is available. Invoices are generated based on
carrier reports and can take up to 90 days to process against your
deposit. If your deposit is greater than your invoice amount, we
will refund the unused portion usually via check.
Is it possible for me to receive the phone number in advance so I may
forward calls from another number to the phone?
Yes. If you request a phone more than 3 days in advance we can provide
you the phone number so you may forward calls from landlines, other cell phones,
even international phones.
What kind of phone number will I be given?
This depends on the service provided: For Basic Voice service,
you are provided European number and USA toll-free ($.50 a minute) for callers to
reach you. For alternative USA-based service you are provided USA
number. If you use the international European number for incoming
calls, anyone capable of making international calls will be able to reach you.
Some people decide to use the toll-free number for the following
reasons: b) Some long carriers are not reliable in reaching overseas
phone numbers, c) Customer do not want their callers to call
internationally or pay for
international long distance, d) Some callers do not have access to
international calling from landline, cell phones or pay phones.
How am I charged for incoming calls versus outgoing calls?
Does it matter where I use the phone or where I call?

regardless of location, destination number or calling number.

Can I connect the phone to my pc and make data calls?
You will need our Alternative USA-based service which has different
rates than Basic Service.

How do you connect to the Laptop?
On our order form you can select USB cable and Timeport to
connect to your laptops. Alternative you can rent a pc card with data
Why is the coverage different than the Basic Voice Service?
Because data requires a sim card and service that supports data calls, we
use a different carrier to provide this service. Since this carrier has
higher roaming rates worldwide, the voice and data calls are billed at different
rates than our Basic Voice Service.
What other advantages come with this service?
Service comes with a USA phone number and voicemail. Service is
post-paid and does not require reloading to continue using the phone. Dialing is
very easy in
the format (00 country code and phone number or + country code number).

and email access?

How do you handle the deposit on this type of service?
Since the service has higher rates, we obtain a $250 deposit. The billing
takes 60 to 90 days since we must wait for the carrier bills.
SHIPPING AND TAXES
How do you handle shipping?
Phone is delivered to you within the USA along with a return box
usually via Fedex. Cost is $10 for 2nd business day or $20 for next
business day (each way). You specify your shipping options on our on-line order
form including the option to provide your own Fedex account number.
Why do you ship the phone? Can I pick it up at the

competitive rates on the net and to reduce our costs, we require shipment to our
customers. This saves us a lot of overhead which we pass along to you as
If you desire delivery to a hotel, we recommend you contact the hotel in
advance to notify them of the delivery since many hotels do not properly deliver
shipments to guests without prior notification from guests.
Am I charged any state, federal or excise taxes.
Tech-Go charges excise/state tax in Georgia and Florida which is equal to
7% of your total invoice excluding
shipping. You may avoid this charge if you submit a USA State sales
tax exemption form.
