Rate Plan Selected        $.35 per minute (30 minimum minutes per day rented usable anytime) or

$.75 per minute (3 minimum minutes per day rented usable anytime) or

Long Distance and Roaming

Long Distance within the US is included with your selected rate plan.  There are no roaming charges within the US, since the phone works off our primary carriers.  Service is available across the majority of the USA.   Note: Sprint PCS customers are provided phones set to use the Sprint network only.  Any changes to the roaming settings on a Sprint phone will be billed at $1.00 per minute.

International Calling – If Requested

For customers assigned a Sprint or AT&T phone, you may place a call by pressing and holding the 3 key to dial Global LD, waiting up to 15 seconds for the balance message and instructions to proceed with your call.   Proceed to dial your international number the following way: Dial 011, country code, city code, and phone number (do not press send again) and wait 10 to 15 seconds for the connection.  You will not hear anything during this connection process.  As a backup if you have problems with Global LD, we have loaded a Global LD2 number and assigned it to the 2 key.

For customers assigned an Airtouch Motorola Star Tac who requested international calling, you may place a call by pressing and holding the 3 key to Dial Global LD, and waiting up to 15 seconds for the message “Please press 1 for English”.  Now press the Smart Key (middle button on the left side of the phone) to automatically transmit 1.  Then a message will play to enter your PIN and again press the Smart Key to transmit your PIN.  Listen for the prompt to enter your number to dial and proceed to dial your international number the following way: Dial 011, country code, city code, and phone number (do not press send again) and wait 10 to 15 seconds for the connection.  You will not hear anything during this connection process.

Placing and Ending Calls

To place a call, enter the number you wish to dial and press Call (Nokia) or SND (Motorola).  Unless calling Atlanta, GA (404/770/678 area code) you will dial a 1, area code, and the seven digit number (ex. 1-212-345-6789).  When calling Atlanta, GA, you usually do not need to dial the 1.  When you would like to end the call you must press End Call (Nokia) or End (Motorola), otherwise the call will continue and you will be billed for usage.

Returning the equipment

Please place the phone, charger, car adapter, manual/literature, and any ordered accessories in the shipping box and place in the included shipping pouch.  If any equipment or manuals are not returned with the phone, you will be charged at the current replacement cost.  Depending on your choice of shipping carrier you may drop the phone at a drop box or contact them directly for pickup or customer service questions:

FEDEX    1-800-463-3339

Voicemail

Voicemail is also included at no additional charge.  The passcode for voicemail is 6363.  Follow the instructions in the manual to access voicemail and enter the 4 digit password when prompted.  You may check your voicemail by using the menu options on the phone or pressing and holding the 1 key.  Coverage varies by region and carrier so you may not be able to make or receive calls in certain areas or inside some buildings.  However, if your phone is out of range, callers will be forward to your voicemail which you can check from your wireless phone or any landline phone.

AT&T – To access voicemail press and hold 1, or use the menus on the phone.  When you hear the greeting, press #, enter passcode, press #.  To access from a landline phone, dial your phone number and wait for greeting, press #, enter passcode.  TROUBLESHOOTING:  Your phone is programmed to automatically send #6363# after dialing your phone number to access voicemail.  However, occasionally the timing is off and you will still need to enter #6363#.  Occasionally when roaming you will receive a message to dial 1 before your number.  In this situation simply dial 1 then your phone number to access your voicemail using the instructions above.

Airtouch – To access voicemail when roaming dial 404-291-3826, enter mailbox number, press *, enter passcode, press #.  To access from a landline phone, dial your phone number and wait for greeting, press *, dial passcode.

Sprint – To access voicemail press and hold 1, or use the menus on the phone.  You will usually hear a prompt telling you if you have messages and how to proceed.  If you hear a voicemail greeting, press *, enter passcode, press #.  To access from a landline phone, dial your phone number and wait for greeting, press *, enter passcode, press #

ADDITIONAL TROUBLESHOOTING: If your AT&T or Airtouch phone indicates ROAM, then access to your voicemail may not be possible from your wireless phone and you may not receive any notification of voicemail messages.  In this unusual situation, you may be able to retrieve your messages from your wireless phone by dialing *35 CALL (Nokia) or SND (Motorola) (you should hear confirmation beeps).  Since all calls to your number will now go directly your voicemail, you may check your voicemail as explained above.  When you are done checking messages, dial *350 CALL (Nokia) or SND (Motorola) and listen for the confirmation beeps.

If you still have problems retrieving messages from your wireless phone, you may always retrieve your messages from any other phone as described above.
