Medium-Range Radio Details
Mid-Range Radios are the popular
palm-sized wonders for people on the move who want to stay connected! These
super-portable two-way radios are of professional quality with the durability
and range that leave toy walkie-talkies speechless.
And no phone bills or connection fees to pay.
How they work:
These 14 channel radios work on UHF "FRS"
(Family Radio Service) frequencies. They have the added features
of programmable scan, control lock button, call alert, vox (voice
activated transmit), and a backlit
display. Push buttons and the LCD display allow the user to select 1
of 14 frequencies and 1 of 38 privacy codes ("PL"). The programmable scan feature allows
the user to select any combination of the 14 channels for scanning.
4 Alert tones are available with the Call feature that notify other users
using the same channel and code you are going to transmit.
The audio accessory connector has a built in VOX feature allows the use of
many optional accessories such as, a headset or speaker mic. The VOX
(Voice Activated Transmit) feature using one of the many optional audio
accessories allows "hands free" operation of the radio. Just
talk and it transmits.
With the NiMH battery the radio can operate for up to
10 hours. Using 3 AA alkaline batteries the radio will operate for up to 30
hours.
